1. Each listing is matched to a plant by its botanical name, so "kowhai" and "Sophora microphylla" land together. A named variety stays its own plant: 'Golf Ball' is not priced against plain Pittosporum tenuifolium.
2. Its size is read as published: a planter bag number (PB3, PB12), a pot in litres, a pot in centimetres, bare root, plug or tube, or a bare height. Height in centimetres is kept alongside whenever the nursery states it.
3. A plant page lists every offer at every size. Sizes are not averaged or converted into one number; a PB12 at 110 cm and a 2.5 L pot at 60 cm are different products and are shown as such.
4. The "price by size" view takes the cheapest in-stock offer at each size and shows the extra cost and extra height of each step up.
5. A listing whose name or size cannot be read with confidence is held out, never shown with a guess.

10,887 further listings were read and held back: pots, tools and other non-plants, and listings whose name or size could not be read with confidence, which are held rather than shown with a guess.

Freight terms are quoted as the nursery publishes them. Freight is not in any price shown here, and for large plants it can matter as much as the plant.

Prices are read once a week from each nursery's own public product feed or pages (robots.txt honoured, one request a second per site) and include GST; a nursery that publishes ex-GST prices has GST added and says so in the data. Each offer carries the date it was captured, shown on the plant page; raw captures are kept so any nursery can be shown the exact page we read. Plant names are matched through a reviewed list, not guessed. There are no affiliate links, no referral fees, no sponsored placement and no supplier relationships, and links go straight to the nursery with no tracking. Availability changes faster than this index does: confirm stock and freight on the nursery's page. The full dataset is downloadable.
