An independent index of solar parts sold in New Zealand, with the price each supplier publishes on its own website. It exists because there was no single place to see who sells what, at what price, without an installer's markup or an affiliate site's incentive in the way.
No commission, no affiliate links, no sponsored placement, no supplier relationships. If a supplier ever pays to appear, this page will say so, and it does not.
Suppliers were found several independent ways, and each way was run until it stopped turning up new names:
Installers who do not sell parts are left out. Trade-only and quote-only suppliers are listed in the directory so you know who to ask, but have no prices here.
Every price is read from the supplier's own site:
Text guessed by a parser is never published on its own. Anything the rules could not classify is held back for review rather than filed under a guess.
Prices are shown in NZD, including GST unless the supplier's page says otherwise (a few trade-facing shops quote ex-GST; the supplier row says so). Freight is never included. The supplier's page is the price you pay; if this index and the page disagree, the page wins, and the dated capture we keep is how we work out what changed.
The two panel pages carry three sortable columns:
Panel size is read from the supplier's own listing, the title first, then the product description, and only kept when the implied W/m² lands between 90 and 260 (real modules do; folded sizes, cartons and cell dimensions do not). Where one seller states the size and another selling the same brand and wattage does not, the size is inherited and the row is marked with an asterisk. Rows with no size show a dash rather than a guess.
Some rows carry a from AU (or other country) tag. These are retailers outside New Zealand that we checked ship here with transparent freight: their own shipping page says they deliver to New Zealand and either publishes the rate or shows it at checkout before you pay. Sellers that only ship "on request" or "contact us for a quote" are not included, and neither is a store whose shipping page does not mention New Zealand at all. The shipping page URL and the sentence we relied on are recorded against each supplier in suppliers.json.
Their prices are converted to NZD at the European Central Bank reference rate for the date shown (source: frankfurter.dev), and displayed with a ≈ and the original figure. Your card issuer's rate will differ by a percent or two. Freight is on top, and so is New Zealand GST: offshore sellers registered for NZ GST add 15% at checkout on orders under NZ$1,000; above that Customs collects GST (and any duty) before release. None of that is in the converted price.
The NZ sellers only switch on each category page hides overseas offers and re-ranks by the cheapest NZ price. The system builder prices from NZ sellers only, so a parts total is never built on an offshore figure without freight.
Rows are grouped by brand and model where the model number can be read from the title, so one product shows every shop selling it. Grouping is reviewed by hand and is imperfect: a variant may be split across two rows or two variants merged into one. Click through before you buy.
Prices are re-read weekly. A refresh publishes only if it still covers at least as many suppliers and offers as the last one and no price has moved beyond a review threshold without a human looking at it; otherwise the previous dataset stays up. The capture date is printed on every page.
The complete dataset is published alongside the pages: products.json, catalogue.json, suppliers.json. Anyone can download it and check a price against the supplier's page.
If you sell solar parts in New Zealand and are not listed, or a price here is wrong, email [email protected] with the page URL. Being listed costs nothing and cannot be bought.
